Question: We love you. I quess my
question is, will you hang in there for yourself more
than anybody or anything? asked by
Linda on Tuesday, November 23,
2004
|
Answer: Dear Linda, Yes,
this is already well underway, and there's no going back
now. I'm grateful for all the love ever given. That's
what laid the foundation on which we're now to begin
building. With this conclusion, we drive fast forward.

Question: Hey Andrew man, I had the
worst day today. Everything is going down the shit hole
and to make things worse, I've got to go to work. Just
wondering how you handle shitty days? When the world
seems like they're against you... I'll probably just pop
in your CD at work, crank it to the max and start
partying right there whether I get fired or not. That's
OK, it would set in with how shitty my day was. Who
needs work any way when you can party all day? Right!
Well, I'm waiting for your theory on all this.
asked by Tyson on Monday,
November 15, 2004
|
Answer: Dear Tyson, You
know you've got to be strong. You know you've got to
hold on. This is not something that's ever going to be
easy, but as you know, that doesn't mean it's bad.
Screwing up is just a temporary condition too. A bad day
is only a mark to pass into the best day you've ever
had. The lower you get, the higher you'll feel upon
completion of the endless climb... that moment will
truly be the end, but you can rest assured that you gave
your best effort - even if all you do is let the moments
come and go and ride with them for a while. I don't
really have a theory on bad days, but I can say it's
still really easy for me to get taken down - it's easy
for anyone. The key is to pull back up to the top.
Remember that it could always be worse, and remember
that this too shall pass. You've got to work and you've
got to live and of course you've got to party and have a
great time - in my opinion, the key to life is to
combine all three of those things into an endlessly
folding mind-blower. You are going to be O.K. STAY
STRONG AND CARRY ON! It could always be worse, and for a
lot of people it is. Look at what you've got, look at
what you want, look at what you are, look at what you're
not, and then close your eyes and never look again - NOW
IT'S TIME TO SEE!!! Your friend, Andrew W.K.

Question: Hey Andrew, do you spit in the
face of people who don't want to be cool? You want cool?
You're lookin' at it! Carlito Carribean Cool
asked by carlito carribean
cool on Sunday, November 14,
2004
|
Answer: Dear Carlito,
You're cascading out of a cushioned chair - working up a
sweat by not working at all - you know, letting the sun
do it's job. The sweet coconut vanilla breeze brushes
the palms as they blow the carribean cool sand. Even
when you're sitting down, you're still standing tall.
You're a world traveler, and you never have to leave the
comfort of the softened living room. We're going to make
an impact, and the force will be felt on a wide horizon.
It's going to shake and that's got nothing to do with
spitting in the face. I would only spit in the face of a
freezer who needs a little hot melt. You know? Let's get
a situation going, and then let's amplify it. This is
all re-structuring and building up to something that we
can't even picture at this point - and that's fine. All
we need to do for now is enjoy what we've got, because
we won't have it forever. We can say this for sure:
what's coming into view will soon be seen by you too,
Carlito. It will be for all of us and we're the ones who
will know how to best enjoy it! You ARE cool and that's
a fact. Your friend, Andrew W.K. answered by

Question: Andrew, I am a guitarist and a
singer and soon I'll be starting a band with some good
friends. I've been countlessly reassured that I'm a good
guitarist and a good singer, but my only problem is that
I cannot find a good inspiration to write music except
for a girl I know. Are there any other places I should
look, or is this all I need? asked by Andy
on Sunday, November 14, 2004
|
Answer: Dear Andy, I think
you've just answered your own question. Try wrting a
song about how you can't find any inspiration except in
this girl you know. Sing about how much you want to find
meaning and motivation in life, but all you can do is
think about this girl. What should you sing about? Sing
about not knowing what to sing about! It's all fair
game. You could have lyrics about how people tell you
you're a good guitarist and singer, but all you know is
that you like this girl. You could say that you're
searching for something more than this girl, but she's
all you can see, and you can't find anything else, even
though you want to. She's blinded your heart and made it
hard to start with what you already know, and go from
there... I'll bet the song's going to be great. Thanks
for writing in, Andy. Nice name, by the way. Your

Question: Hey Mr. W.K! I just saw you
and the band play at the Bellingham show about 30
minutes ago. The show totally rocked and I had a blast!
But I was perplexed by one thing: How did you and your
band rock so hard for so long? I've never seen a band do
their set with consistent high energy! Arigato!!!
asked by Amanda on
Saturday, November 13, 2004
|
Answer: Dear Amanda, This
Bellingham, Washington night was no coincidence or
accident in the making. There were 7 night-flights and
then some, just to get the ball rolling. Covey Run was
supplied by the airline, and we enjoyed the taste, but
the effort was for a very true cause: to provide you
with fun. Why do we come from all over the country, just
to play in Bellingham? Because we had faith in your
ability to create the most fantastic situation in which
to unload every bad-vibe that's ever crossed us - all of
us. It was going to be such a thrill, we couldn't avoid
it. We were unloading the blackness towards the back of
the stage, and all the pleasure was left to cascade
forward into the waves of you. Everyone focused on their
own goals, which were to be as lofty as possible. With
the reality of where we were in the front light at all
time, the required power of it was inescapable. Not one
moment was taken for granted. On behalf of the rest of
the band I report the following: It was absolutly one of
the greatest times we've had at ANY show ever. I
personally focused on producing the highest level of
quality that I could. I was really happy with the
results, which only point to further progress. I felt
like that night was a personal breathrough point. Things
are only going to keep getting better from here. To
answer your question: We were able to keep the energy
consistent because of the undeniable immediate demands
of the situation. Plus, we trusted you in advance which
gave us an immediate boost right from the kick-in. I've
never felt better at a concert. We were prepared for the
ultimate party, but we were still unprepared for the
level of love that came blasting through-out the room.
All that unbridled love made it impossible for us to
ever stop or let the groove die-down. It must be
maintained and INCREASED through out the night, and that
was something WE ALL DID, and that includes YOU, Amanda!
THANK YOU!!! This is what WE do with YOU together. Your
friend, Andrew W.K. answered by Andrew
